What the numbers on the Cologne Christmas Market map mean
Pins 1 to 10 stand in the Innenstadt district, from the MediaPark in the north-west to Chlodwigplatz in the south; 11 and 12 lie further out. Numbers match Cologne's Christmas Markets, and distances are straight-line km from the centre point.
1. Christmas Market at Cologne Cathedral
Pin 1 marks Roncalliplatz, the square in front of the cathedral in Altstadt-Nord, 0.2 km south of the centre point. The nearest stop is Dom/Hauptbahnhof, with lines U 5, 16 and 18 and S 6, 11, 12, 13 and 19. Season on the square: 16 November to 23 December 2026.
2. Market of Angels
The Market of Angels fills the middle of Neumarkt in Altstadt-Süd, 1.0 km south-west of the centre point. The Christmas Market at St. Aposteln (8) shares the square, by the church on its west side. Neumarkt stop: lines 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 16 and 18. On the square from 16 November to 23 December 2026.

3. Heinzels Wintermärchen
Heinzels Wintermärchen uses two neighbouring squares in Altstadt-Nord: Alter Markt, where pin 3 sits 0.4 km south-east of the centre point, and Heumarkt. Both run from 23 November to 23 December 2026; from 26 December to 10 January 2027 only the Heumarkt section, with the ice rink, stays open. Stops: Heumarkt (lines 1, 5, 7, 9) and Rathaus (line 5).
4. Nikolausdorf on Rudolfplatz
The village occupies Rudolfplatz, in front of the Hahnentorburg city gate, in Altstadt-Süd. Pin 4 lies 1.4 km south-west of the centre point by the cathedral, the same distance as Heavenue (7) to the west. Huts on the square from 16 November to 23 December 2026.

5. Cologne Harbour Christmas Market
The market is set in front of the Chocolate Museum at Im Zollhafen 1, on the Rhine promenade in the Rheinauhafen, 1.2 km south of the centre point. Bus 133 stops at Schokoladenmuseum; from the cathedral or the old town, the promenade leads there on foot. Open 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, closed on 24 and 25 December.

6. Stadtgarten Christmas Market
The huts stand in the Stadtgarten park at Venloer Straße 40, near the Belgian Quarter in Neustadt-Nord, 1.6 km west of the centre point. Stops: Friesenplatz (lines 3, 4, 5, 12, 15) and Hans-Böckler-Platz (lines 3, 4, 5). In the park from 13 November to 23 December 2026.

7. Heavenue
Heavenue takes over Friesenplatz in Neustadt-Nord, 1.4 km west of the centre point. Lines 3, 4, 5, 12 and 15 stop at Friesenplatz, and the market is directly at the station; the same stop serves the Stadtgarten Christmas Market (6). On Friesenplatz from 16 November to 23 December 2026.

8. Christmas Market at St. Aposteln
The stalls fill the church square around St. Aposteln at Neumarkt 30, on the west side of Neumarkt in Altstadt-Süd, 1.1 km south-west of the centre point. The Market of Angels (2) occupies the middle of the same square. By the church from 16 November to 30 December 2026.

9. Santa's Christmas Market
This market sits in the MediaPark, in Neustadt-Nord, 1.2 km north-west of the centre point. Lines 12 and 15 serve the Christophstraße/MediaPark stop, and S-Bahn trains stop at Köln Hansaring. In the MediaPark from 19 November to 23 December 2026.

10. Vringsadvent
Vringsadvent takes over Chlodwigplatz, at the Severinstorburg city gate in the Südstadt, part of Altstadt-Süd. Pin 10 lies 2.3 km south of the centre point, beyond the Cologne Harbour Christmas Market (5) on the same side of the city. At the gate from 19 November to 23 December 2026.

11. Cologne-West Christmas Market
The market is set up at Quartier B, the former 4711 site at Venloer Straße 769 in Bickendorf (Ehrenfeld district), 4.9 km north-west of the centre point. The same street, Venloer Straße, passes the Stadtgarten Christmas Market (6) at number 40, nearer the centre. Open from 19 November to 23 December 2026.

12. Sülzer Weihnachtsdorf
The Sülzer Weihnachtsdorf (Sülz Christmas Village) stands on Elisabeth-von-Mumm-Platz, Am Sülzgürtel, next to the Ventana, in Sülz (Lindenthal district), 4.1 km south-west of the centre point. Tram 18 from Neumarkt or tram 13 from Ehrenfeld station takes about 20 minutes. Huts from 23 November to 23 December 2026.

By the cathedral, the Christmas Market at Cologne Cathedral (1), 0.2 km away, is served by the Dom/Hauptbahnhof stop and lines for the cathedral market, and Heinzels Wintermärchen (3), 0.4 km away, by the Heumarkt stop. The Market of Angels (2, 1.0 km) and the Christmas Market at St. Aposteln (8, 1.1 km) share Neumarkt.
To the west, Heavenue (7) is 1.4 km out and the Stadtgarten Christmas Market (6) 1.6 km; Nikolausdorf on Rudolfplatz (4) is 1.4 km south-west and Santa's Christmas Market (9) 1.2 km north-west.
South along the Rhine, the Cologne Harbour Christmas Market (5) is 1.2 km away, by bus 133 or on foot along the Rhine promenade; Vringsadvent (10) is 2.3 km south.
