The festive programme in the city council's 2026 announcement pairs two large outdoor Christmas sites, at St George's Hall and Pier Head, with a series of pop-up seasonal markets. The council's page for the Basnett Street Artisan Market gives its three Saturday dates, what its traders sell and where the street lies.
The Liverpool Christmas Markets on the map, one by one

1. Liverpool Christmas Market
Underbelly runs this Christmas Market from 2026, a new operator chosen by Liverpool City Council after a tender. Local traders sell Christmas gifts, personalised decorations and festive finds beside an outdoor ice rink, the Big Wheel, a carousel and other rides, the Christmas Tree Maze and a rooftop bar. The site sells no entry ticket: skating is booked by session and each ride is paid for at the ride itself. Open Saturday 21 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, closed on Christmas Day.

2. Liverpool Christmas Wonderland
Icebox Live runs it: independent traders sell from timber chalets open to anyone on site. Around them stand a covered ice rink, the Star Flyer and other rides, the Light Walk, Santa's Grotto and the Winter Club bar. Entry to the site, the market, the bar and the food traders needs no ticket; the ice rink and Santa's Grotto take advance bookings, and rides are paid one by one. Dates: Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, closed on Christmas Day.

3. Basnett Street Artisan Market
Liverpool City Council runs this artisan market as a series of Saturday market days. Local independent traders sell bespoke gifts, jewellery and hand-crafted goods with Christmas gifting in mind, and hot and cold food is on sale too. In 2026 it trades on three dates only: Saturday 7 November, Saturday 21 November and Saturday 5 December.

4. Makers at the Mansion
The Reader, a Liverpool charity, holds this winter fair of local makers over one weekend. Stalls offer crafts, handmade gifts, art and clothing, with different makers each day. Live entertainment runs alongside, and a Book Flood offers brand-new books, with an optional donation going to the charity's Christmas fundraising appeal. Entry is on a drop-in basis, with no tickets needed. Dates: Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 2026.

Liverpool Christmas Market food, market by market
Food at the Liverpool Christmas Markets differs from site to site. On St George's Plateau, a swing grill turns out Bavarian sausages and burgers, sweet treats fill the gaps, and the rooftop bar, Snowed Inn, serves mulled wine, hot chocolate and something sparkling.
At Pier Head, Liverpool Christmas Wonderland lines up a German swing grill, burgers, noodles, Yorkshire puddings, stone-baked pizza and Greek food, with vegetarian and vegan options among them. For something sweet there are churros, crêpes, mini Dutch pancakes, roasted marshmallows, and crumble with custard. The Winter Club bar pours hot toddies, mulled wine, festive cocktails, beer and hot chocolate.
The Basnett Street Artisan Market adds hot and cold food on each of its three Saturdays. At Makers at the Mansion, festive food and drink is served at The Reader bar and in the cafés at Calderstones.
