The Christmas Markets in Prague gather on the squares of Prague 1, in the Old Town, the New Town and Malá Strana, and further out in Vinohrady, Žižkov, Smíchov and Holešovice, and 10 of them are numbered on the map. The first dates confirmed for 2026 run from 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027. They range from traditional markets of Czech crafts and Christmas food on the central squares to neighbourhood Advent markets.

Kampa, Václavské Vánoce and Holešovice Market have not announced their 2026 dates yet. The 2026 dates of the two Taiko squares are on the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square markets site, and those of the three LCA squares on the České vánoční trhy site, in Czech.

1. Old Town Square Christmas Market

Taiko runs the Christmas Market on Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) around its Christmas tree, lit on 28 November 2026. The stalls sell mainly Czech Christmas goods and handmade items, from glass, straw and corn-husk ornaments to ceramic and wooden nativity scenes and bobbin lace. A daily cultural programme of music and folklore fills the main stage. It runs daily from 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027.

2. Wenceslas Square Christmas Market

The second Taiko market lines the lower part of Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí), by Můstek, with wooden huts of Czech Christmas goods and handicrafts. Its food list reaches beyond mulled wine and sausages to vegetarian dishes, tvarožník (curd cake), and pancakes and gingerbread made without gluten. A regular stage programme of music, choirs and family shows carries on until Three Kings. The market runs daily from 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027.

3. Náměstí Míru Christmas Market

LCA, which trades as České vánoční trhy, sets up this market in front of St Ludmila's Church on Náměstí Míru (Peace Square) in Vinohrady. Its stalls offer ornaments, ceramic nativity scenes, wooden toys, sheep's wool products, artist-made jewellery and holiday treats, next to stands with hot drinks and grilled food. Its organiser also runs the markets on Náměstí Republiky and Tylovo náměstí. In 2026 it is open daily from 20 November to 24 December.

4. Náměstí Republiky Christmas Market

Christmas Markets have been held on Náměstí Republiky (Republic Square) since 2003, and this one, run by LCA, stands in the part of the square facing V Celnici street. The stalls carry mistletoe, Advent wreaths, candles and candlesticks, ornaments, toys, sweets, nativity scenes, Advent calendars and arts and crafts. It is open daily from 25 November to 24 December 2026.

5. Kampa Christmas Market

The Kampa Christmas Market sets up on the square Na Kampě, in Malá Strana (Lesser Town), on the far bank of the river from the Old Town. Its Christmas events are organised by a local citizens' association, the Association of Citizens and Friends of Malá Strana and Hradčany, together with the Prague 1 district. The 2026 dates have not been announced yet.

6. Václavské Vánoce

Václavské Vánoce (Wenceslas Christmas) is a different market from the Wenceslas Square Christmas Market (number 2) and is run by the New Town of Prague Association. In 2025 it combined Christmas and food stalls with stalls of sheltered workshops and non-profits, plus concerts and children's choirs. In 2024 and 2025 it moved to Náměstí Republiky while the upper part of Wenceslas Square was being renovated. Its 2026 site and dates have not been announced yet.

7. Tylovo náměstí Christmas Market

The third LCA market fills Tylovo náměstí, a square in Vinohrady in Prague 2. Like its two sister markets, it sells mistletoe, Advent wreaths, candles, toys, ornaments, sweets, Advent calendars, nativity scenes and crafts, with Christmas refreshments alongside. It shares the same organiser rules for stalls as Náměstí Míru and Náměstí Republiky. The market is open daily from 26 November to 24 December 2026.

8. Anděl Christmas Market

The Anděl Christmas Market sets up in the Anděl pedestrian zone on Nádražní street in Smíchov, Prague 5. It is run by Mercatus Company, the operator of the Friday farmers' market on the same spot, which holds its Christmas Market there from 28 November to 31 December 2026. Among the markets with 2026 dates, it is the one that carries on past Christmas without running into January.

9. Advent Market at Jiřího z Poděbrad Square

The Prague 3 district, which runs the farmers' market on náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad, holds this Advent market on the same square, known locally as Jiřák, where Vinohrady meets Žižkov. The district has announced its Advent 2026 market for 28 November to 23 December 2026, so it closes a day before the three LCA markets.

10. Advent at Holešovice Market

Holešovice Market (Holešovická tržnice), the market-hall complex in Prague 7, has announced small Advent markets for November and December 2026 at its Food Truck Point and on the market square, with details to follow. The programme is to include a winter cinema, Svařák & film, and sales of Christmas trees. The 2026 dates have not been announced yet.

Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square, the two Taiko markets, pour svařené víno (mulled wine) made from Moravian grapes, medovina (mead) and punč (hot punch). Their grills turn out klobása, Czech sausages with paprika or herbs, while trdelník, a rolled pastry, is baked on a spit.

The sweet stalls on the two squares sell Štramberské uši (spiced gingerbread cones from Štramberk), Hořické trubičky (wafer rolls from Hořice), frgále (Wallachian fruit pies), perníky (gingerbread) and vánoční cukroví (Czech Christmas biscuits). The savoury side adds lokše (potato flatbreads) and grilovaný oštiepok (grilled smoked sheep's cheese).

The food at the Prague Christmas Markets run by LCA, Náměstí Míru, Náměstí Republiky and Tylovo náměstí, follows the organiser's list of permitted refreshments: klobása and other grilled food, svařené víno, punč, grog, medovina and pečené kaštany (roasted chestnuts).

Of the Christmas Markets in Prague in November, Náměstí Míru opens earliest among those with 2026 dates, on Friday 20 November 2026. Náměstí Republiky follows on Wednesday 25 November and Tylovo náměstí on Thursday 26 November. Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square, Anděl and the Advent Market at Jiřího z Poděbrad Square all open on Saturday 28 November, the eve of the first Sunday of Advent.

The Christmas Markets in Prague in December begin to close before Christmas. Jiřího z Poděbrad ends on 23 December, and Náměstí Míru, Náměstí Republiky and Tylovo náměstí on 24 December. Holiday opening times for 2026 have not been announced yet.

Anděl stays open until 31 December, while Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square run into the New Year, until 6 January 2027. No 2026 dates have been announced yet for Kampa, Václavské Vánoce or Holešovice Market.
