1. Christmas Village Amsterdam
Organisatie Christmas Village Amsterdam fills Museumplein with stalls of Christmas gifts, art and fashion, among them handmade leather bracelets and scarves, soy candles, personalised baubles, alpaca wool and soaps in the shapes of Amsterdam. A cappella choirs may stroll between the stalls, and it suits a family day out. No entry ticket is needed for the market; the ice rink on Museumplein is a separate event with its own tickets. It runs from Thursday 3 to Sunday 27 December 2026.

2. The Maker Market XL
Since 2017, The Maker Market has run markets in Amsterdam, and its XL edition is held indoors in the Centrale Markthal. Each piece on sale is made or designed by the person behind the stall, from jewellery, ceramics and prints to candles and children's products, with a new line-up each day. Expect workshops, quick portrait drawings, live Christmas music and a children's programme. Entry takes a time-slot ticket bought in advance. Dates: Saturday 19 to Wednesday 23 December 2026.

3. Sustainable Christmas Market at De Ceuvel
Organised by De Ceuvel, this market uses the De Ceuvel site at Korte Papaverweg 2-6, in Amsterdam-Noord; its Dutch name is Duurzame Kerstmarkt. Its 2025 edition took place over two December weekends. No 2026 dates have been announced yet, and until they are, its map pin stays grey.

Food and drink at the Christmas Markets in Amsterdam
Amsterdam Christmas Market food mixes Dutch winter snacks with dishes from other countries. At Christmas Village Amsterdam (1), one stall lets visitors bake their own poffertjes (mini Dutch pancakes), another sells large, freshly baked stroopwafels (syrup waffles) with toppings, and a barbecue stand serves broodje rookworst (smoked sausage sandwich). From further afield come raclette, lángos (fried flatbread), Spanish churros dipped in chocolate sauce and schoorsteenkoek (chimney cake), and one stall is given over to fish, both smoked and fried.
To drink, the Museumplein stalls pour red glühwein (mulled wine) along with a non-alcoholic version, warme chocolademelk (hot chocolate) with or without whipped cream, and beer, which also comes without alcohol.
Inside the Centrale Markthal, The Maker Market XL (2) keeps a glühwein bar going all day, with hot chocolate on the same counter, while its food stands cook hot dishes and a poffertjes stall bakes them fresh.
Amsterdam Christmas Markets in December 2026
On the map with 2026 dates so far, the Christmas Markets in Amsterdam in December open in two steps. Christmas Village Amsterdam (1), also called Kerstmarkt Museumplein, starts on Thursday 3 December and stays until Sunday 27 December, with shorter hours on 25 and 26 December and on its closing day. The Maker Market XL (2) follows in the Centrale Markthal for the five days between Saturday 19 and Wednesday 23 December, so in that week both can be visited on the same day. Both are over by the end of December.
In Amsterdam-Noord, the Sustainable Christmas Market at De Ceuvel (3) filled two weekends of December 2025 and has not set its 2026 dates yet. De Ceuvel's page on the market explains what the market is about.
