When do the Christmas Markets in Liverpool start?

Of the markets on the map, Basnett Street Artisan Market (3) opens ahead of the others, on Saturday 7 November 2026. Liverpool Christmas Wonderland (2) follows at Pier Head on Friday 20 November, Liverpool Christmas Market (1) at St George's Plateau on Saturday 21 November and Makers at the Mansion (4) on Saturday 28 November. All four have confirmed 2026 dates.

The two outdoor Christmas sites open on consecutive days. Pier Head starts on the Friday and the plateau in front of St George's Hall on the Saturday, which is also the second Basnett Street market day. From that weekend the waterfront and the plateau trade side by side until January.

Basnett Street Artisan Market does not run as a continuous season: its stalls come to the pedestrian street on three Saturdays spread over four weeks, 7 November, 21 November and 5 December. Makers at the Mansion, at Calderstones Mansion House in south Liverpool, keeps to a single weekend, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 2026, one week after the plateau opens.

Liverpool Christmas Market and Liverpool Christmas Wonderland open on each day of their runs apart from Christmas Day, and Makers at the Mansion on both days of its weekend. Two markets on the map are over well before Christmas. Makers at the Mansion closes on Sunday 29 November 2026, at the end of its weekend in Calderstones Park, and Basnett Street Artisan Market holds its third Saturday, and its closing day of the year, on 5 December 2026. Liverpool Christmas Market and Liverpool Christmas Wonderland carry on through Christmas and New Year. Both are closed on Friday 25 December, open again on Saturday 26 December and keep going into January, closing on Sunday 3 January 2027. That Sunday ends the season of the markets on the map.

In 2024 and 2025 the plateau market was run by a previous operator. It opened on a Thursday in 2024 and on a Saturday in 2025, and both years it ended on Christmas Eve. In 2026, under its new operator, it opens on Saturday 21 November and carries on past Christmas into January, to Sunday 3 January 2027.

Basnett Street went from one Saturday market day in 2024 to two in 2025, and has three in 2026, a series that begins earlier, on 7 November. Makers at the Mansion held its Christmas weekend at the end of November in 2025, as it does again in 2026.
