Exchange Square and the seven other sites that end on 22 December close at 18:00 that Tuesday, and their season is over before Christmas Eve. Albert Square and Cathedral Gardens close at 17:00 on 24 December, stay shut on Christmas Day and reopen on 26 December from 10:00 to 18:00 each day until 3 January. On New Year's Eve Albert Square stays open until just after midnight, to 00:30, while Cathedral Gardens closes at 18:00. When the Manchester Christmas Markets open later or close early
The latest closing of the season is on New Year's Eve, when the Albert Square market stays open from 10:00 to 00:30. On every other day of the run the latest closing time at any site is 21:00, and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays keep the same 10:00 to 21:00 as weekdays.
Early closings come in three steps: 18:00 on Tuesday 22 December at sites 2 and 4 to 10, 17:00 on Christmas Eve at Albert Square and Cathedral Gardens, and 18:00 at those two sites every day from 26 December to 3 January 2027, apart from Albert Square on 31 December. Every site opens at 10:00 on each day of its run.
