- Markets 1 and 2 are a single Christmas Market spread over two squares and run by Shopping Brugge, which is why their hours match.

Christmas Day and New Year's Day are public holidays in Belgium, and both dates are on the federal list of Belgian public holidays, in Dutch. On these two days the squares stay open with a smaller range of stalls. The Handmade in Brugge MAKERSmarkt has finished by then: its weekend in the Stadshallen closes on Sunday 20 December.
When the Bruges Christmas Markets open later or close early
On Friday and Saturday evenings the Markt and Simon Stevin Square trade for one hour longer, until 21:00 instead of 20:00. Some stalls on both squares go on later still: until 22:00 from Sunday to Thursday and until 23:00 on Friday and Saturday.
The MAKERSmarkt starts late on its opening day, at 16:00 on Friday 18 December, and closes at 20:00. On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December it opens at 11:00 and ends earlier, at 18:00.
