What each of the 3 markets on the Bruges map offers

1. Christmas Market on the Markt
Shopping Brugge (vzw Brugs Handelscentrum) runs this market for Winter Glow, as one Christmas Market with the stalls on Simon Stevin Square. Lit stalls offer gifts and winter treats, from stallholders chosen for local and craft products in 2026/27. The stalls are the Brugse Kabans, wooden chalets of the City of Bruges. In 2025 the Markt held the classic range of gifts, treats and decorations. No entry ticket is needed. Open Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.

2. Christmas Market on Simon Stevin Square
The second square of the same Christmas Market, also run by Shopping Brugge for Winter Glow. Its lit chalets hold gifts and winter treats from stallholders picked for local and craft goods; in 2025 the square leaned towards short-chain products from local makers. The skating rink, the IJsgloed Winter Bar and a wooden nativity scene lie nearby. No entry ticket is needed; the ice rink is a separate paid attraction. Open Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.

3. Handmade in Brugge MAKERSmarkt
A new part of Winter Glow in 2026, organised by the City of Bruges (Handmade in Brugge) with De Republiek, indoors in the Jan Garemijnzaal of the Stadshallen. Bruges makers sell handmade items, unique gifts and local produce directly, visitors can meet them in person, and purchases can be gift-wrapped on the spot. Coffee with a treat comes from local businesses. No entry ticket is needed. One weekend only, from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 December 2026.

Food and drink at the Christmas Markets in Bruges
Bruges Christmas Market food on the Markt and Simon Stevin Square means winter treats (winterse lekkernijen) sold at the lit stalls. Beside the Winter Glow ice rink, the IJsgloed Winter Bar serves local drinks and snacks with a view over the ice. At the MAKERSmarkt, local businesses provide coffee with a treat (koffie met iets lekkers) between purchases.
Bruges Christmas Markets by month, from November to the New Year
On the map, the Christmas Markets in Bruges in November are the two in the centre. The Markt and Simon Stevin Square open on Friday 20 November 2026 and then trade each day with their lit chalets through the rest of the month.
For Christmas Markets in Bruges in December, the map adds the Handmade in Brugge MAKERSmarkt, held indoors in the Stadshallen over one weekend, Friday 18 to Sunday 20 December 2026. During December a wooden nativity scene also stands by Sint-Salvatorskathedraal (Saint Saviour's Cathedral). On both squares, Christmas Eve (24 December) is a shorter trading day and New Year's Eve (31 December) has its own hours, while Christmas Day and New Year's Day bring fewer stalls and reduced hours.
Into the New Year, the Markt and Simon Stevin Square carry on until Sunday 3 January 2027, as does the Winter Glow ice rink.
