When do the Christmas Markets in Paris start?

The Paris La Défense Christmas Market is first to open of the markets with 2026 dates, on Thursday 12 November 2026, two days ahead of the Tuileries Christmas Market on Saturday 14 November. The Champs-Élysées Christmas Market closes last of the markets with 2026 dates, on Monday 4 January 2027. Seven of the 14 markets on the map still have to announce their 2026 dates.

Four of the markets with 2026 dates open in November. After La Défense on its forecourt in Puteaux and the Tuileries market at the Concorde end of the garden, the Champs-Élysées market sets up on the lower part of the avenue on Sunday 22 November. The Paris Notre-Dame Christmas Market comes next, on Thursday 26 November, in Square René-Viviani on the Left Bank.

Three more begin in December. The Alsatian Christmas Market at Gare de l'Est stands on the station forecourt between Wednesday 2 and Friday 18 December. The Les Canaux Christmas Market, at the Maison des Canaux by the Bassin de la Villette, runs on Friday 11, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, and the Klin d'œil Christmas Market takes place inside the hall of Le Carreau du Temple on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December.

The overview of the Christmas Markets in Paris describes where each market stands.

The Paris Christmas Market calendar for 2026, with the 14 markets in map order:

The two December weekend markets overlap: Les Canaux and Klin d'œil share Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, and the Gare de l'Est market is still on during both days.

In French, the 2026 calendar of Christmas Markets kept by the City of Paris lists the markets held inside the city this season. The City of Paris page on the Champs-Élysées market gives the 2026 run of the stalls on the avenue, which open on Sunday 22 November and stay until Monday 4 January.

Three markets with 2026 dates finish before Christmas Eve: Les Canaux and Klin d'œil on Sunday 13 December, and the Gare de l'Est market on Friday 18 December.

The Notre-Dame market keeps going past Christmas and closes on Sunday 27 December. La Défense's traditional market ends on Thursday 31 December 2026, but Le Sommet and its ice rink carry on to Sunday 3 January 2027, and that square also opens on New Year's Day. Two of the markets with 2026 dates run into January: the Tuileries market until Sunday 3 January and the Champs-Élysées market until Monday 4 January 2027.

Of the markets with 2026 dates, only La Défense has announced hours for 24 and 25 December. The Tuileries, Champs-Élysées and Notre-Dame markets span both days in their dates but have not announced hours for them.

Past seasons of 12 markets on the map, by market number:

The La Défense market dates back to 1995. In 2025 the La Villette village went by the name Noël La Villette, a Swiss Christmas village on Place de la Fontaine-aux-Lions. The Champs-Élysées market comes back to the avenue in 2026 after almost ten years' absence. For a market still waiting for its 2026 dates, the 2025 season is a past run and no forecast for this winter.
