The Christmas Markets on the map, numbered
Cards follow the pins on the map of the Salzburg Christmas Markets: 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 in the Old Town, 4 across the Salzach, 3 and 8 further out. What each offers is on the Salzburg Christmas Markets.
1. Salzburg Christkindlmarkt
Pin 1, the reference point for every distance on the map, marks Domplatz in front of Salzburg Cathedral. The Christkindlmarkt carries on into Residenzplatz next door and parts of Kapitelplatz, on the left bank of the Salzach. The Alter Markt (6) and the St. Peter courtyard (7) are its Old Town neighbours.

2. Sternadvent
Pin 2 marks the Sternarkaden, the courtyard of the Sternbräu between Getreidegasse and Griesgasse, with an address on each street: Getreidegasse 34 and Griesgasse 23. It sits in the Old Town 0.4 km north-west of Domplatz, and the Hanuschplatz and Rathaus bus stops are 50 to 100 metres from it.

3. Hellbrunner Adventzauber
Pin 3 stands at Hellbrunn Palace (Schloss Hellbrunn), Fürstenweg 37, 4.1 km south of Domplatz and away from the Old Town. The market fills the inner courtyard and the park of the palace. The red ring drawn around this pin marks a market with an entry ticket.

4. Christmas Market on Mirabellplatz
Pin 4 sits on Mirabellplatz on the right bank of the Salzach, directly at Mirabell Palace and across the square from St. Andrew's Church. It lies 0.8 km north of Domplatz, with the river between it and the Old Town markets.

5. Advent Market at Hohensalzburg Fortress
Pin 5 marks the Großer Burghof (great courtyard) of Hohensalzburg Fortress, Mönchsberg 34, high on the hill 0.4 km south-east of Domplatz. From the courtyard the view reaches over the rooftops of the town, and the Alter Markt (6) lies 0.5 km from it.

6. Charity Advent Market on the Alter Markt
Pin 6 marks the Alter Markt, an Old Town square on the left bank of the Salzach, 0.2 km north of Domplatz. The huts and stands of the volunteer organisations line this square, and the St. Peter courtyard of the Winterwunderwald (7) is 0.3 km away.

7. Winterwunderwald
Pin 7 marks the Willibald arcade courtyard of the St. Peter Stiftskulinarium, the restaurant in the St.-Peter-Bezirk, 0.1 km south-west of Domplatz in the Old Town. One mulled wine stand serves the decorated courtyard.

8. Advent Market at the Salzachsee
Pin 8 lies on the shore of the Salzachsee, a lake in the Liefering district, at Schmiedinger Straße 180. The lakeshore belongs to the Salzachsee-Saalachspitz landscape protection area, 5.2 km north-west of Domplatz, and the Winterwunderwald (7) is 5.3 km away.

Page 2 takes the markets in map order with the address, dates, weekly hours and special-day hours, admission, highlights, food and drink and type of each. In English, 0.8 MB. Edition: October 2026.
Walking between the Salzburg Christmas Markets
Distances on the map are straight lines between pins, not walking routes. Measured from Domplatz (1), four pins form a cluster in the Old Town on the left bank of the Salzach: the Winterwunderwald (7) at 0.1 km, the Alter Markt (6) at 0.2 km and Sternadvent (2) at 0.4 km.
The fortress courtyard (5) is 0.4 km from Domplatz too, up the Festungsgasse on the hill to the south-east; the tourist board's page on the fortress Advent market shows the 2026 market days and the way in on foot. Across the river on the right bank, Mirabellplatz (4) is 0.8 km north of Domplatz.
