The Christmas Market at Schönbrunn Palace fills the palace's Courtyard of Honour in Vienna with more than 90 stalls, an ice rink and curling lanes. It runs from 6 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, with no entry ticket for the market.

Neither ticket is needed for the Christmas Market, which has no entry ticket: one covers the palace rooms and the other a concert in the Orangery.
Schönbrunn Palace Entry Ticket
Entry to selected rooms of Schönbrunn Palace for a time slot, with the palace audio guide included and no time limit once inside. A Vienna city audio guide app can be added. When availability is limited, the time slot can move by up to 90 minutes.
Schönbrunn Palace Mozart & Strauss Concert
A live concert of works by Mozart and Johann Strauss in the Orangery of Schönbrunn Palace, opposite Schönbrunn U4 station. Seats come in four categories, and the VIP option adds a glass of sparkling wine or juice and a programme booklet. Tickets are collected at the counter inside the Orangery at least 15 minutes before the start.
What to eat and buy at the Schönbrunn Christmas Market
The market fills the Courtyard of Honour (Ehrenhof), the forecourt between the main gate on Schönbrunner Schlossstraße and the palace, where a 22 m spruce from the Wienerwald, about 80 years old, stands as the Christmas tree. More than 90 stalls sell traditional arts and crafts, handmade Christmas decorations and regional food. An ice rink, where skates can be hired, and curling lanes share the courtyard with a carousel, a children's Ferris wheel, a children's train and a craft hut; ride tickets are sold only on site. The Sternensalon, a sheltered event space, and its panoramic terrace with a photo point and its own bar are open to all visitors from 16:00 Monday to Friday and from 12:00 at weekends until the market closes, except during private events.
Freshly baked Vanillekipferl (vanilla crescent biscuits), hot Punsch (fruit punch) and Glühwein (mulled wine) scent the courtyard, and the food stalls also serve children's menus. Four ATMs stand directly at the market, and toilets, an accessible toilet and baby-changing facilities are in the courtyard next to the straw maze.

The market opens every day of the season, with three sets of hours:

The palace rooms close at 17:00, and at 17:30 on 5 to 8, 12, 13, 19 and 20 December 2026 and from 25 December 2026 to 6 January 2027. Imperial Lights, the light garden in the palace park, is entered at the Meidlinger Tor and opens daily from 16:30 to 22:00, except on 24 December.

K&K Christmas Market at Belvedere Palace
In front of the Upper Belvedere, themed on the imperial and royal era in its decoration, music and food, with crafts and products from Vienna and the region. It runs from 20 November to 31 December 2026.
Old Viennese Christmas Market Freyung
On the Freyung in the old town, with handicrafts, glass decorations and nativity figures, a daily stage of brass and folk music and a puppet theatre. It runs daily from 14 November to 23 December 2026.

Christmas Market at Am Hof
More than 70 exhibitors of handmade and artistic goods on the Am Hof square, with Zirbenpunsch (stone-pine punch) as the house speciality. It runs from 13 November to 23 December 2026.

Christmas Market on Stephansplatz
Directly in front of St Stephen's Cathedral, with booths of Austrian handicrafts and traditional Austrian food. Like Schönbrunn, it opens on 6 November, and it runs until 26 December 2026.
