What is the start date for the Christmas Markets in Strasbourg?

On the map, the markets with announced dates are the 11 squares of Strasbourg Capitale de Noël, numbered 1 to 11: they open on Friday 27 November 2026 and trade every day until Thursday 24 December 2026. The Noël de la Brocante (12) is waiting for its 2026 dates, and OZ Métiers d'Art (13) has none yet either.

The start is not staggered. On that Friday the stalls begin trading on place Broglie, place de la Cathédrale, place du Château, place Kléber, place Benjamin-Zix, place Saint-Thomas, Terrasse Rohan, place du Marché-aux-Poissons, place du Temple-Neuf, square Louise-Weiss and place Grimmeissen. The City of Strasbourg runs ten of these squares with local partners, and the Marché OFF, organised by a group of social and solidarity economy organisations, keeps to the same calendar, so one opening day and one closing day hold for the whole event.

The two remaining markets on the map are indoor fairs in the Aubette on place Kléber: antique and second-hand dealers gather at the Noël de la Brocante, while designers and craftspeople from Frémaa, the Alsace arts and crafts federation, show their work at OZ Métiers d'Art.

From the opening day to the closing day, the 11 squares trade daily with no day off. In English, the season start on the tourist office site gives the 27 November opening together with the history of the Christkindelsmärik and its squares. Year by year, the City's timeline of the market since 1570 runs up to the 2025 edition.

Thursday 24 December 2026 is the closing day for the 11 squares of Strasbourg Capitale de Noël, from the Christkindelsmärik on place Broglie to the Marché OFF on place Grimmeissen. On Christmas Eve their stalls stay open until 18:00 and then shut for the season.

Among the markets with 2026 dates, nothing carries on past that evening: no stall trades on Christmas Day, between Christmas and New Year or in January 2027.

Neither fair in the Aubette has set a 2026 closing day so far. In 2025 the Noël de la Brocante was over by Sunday 7 December and OZ Métiers d'Art by Monday 22 December, both before Christmas Eve.
